As a photographer living in Iceland, I get confronted with harsh and cold weather conditions extremely often. Over the years I found that investing in great and durable outdoor gear is an absolute necessity if you're serious about any kind of nature photography. The one thing I've regularly struggled with is finding the right gloves.
The story behind one of my favourite photographs, taken all the way back in 2015, when I discovered an otherworldly landscape deep in the highlands of Iceland.
Today, I am proud to say that my brand-new fine art print experience is finally available! I have always felt that selling my work as prints was an afterthought on my website. Therefore, I decided to turn the dial up to eleven and offer a new experience which is authentic & unique.
Last week almost the entire of North of Iceland was extremely fortunate to witness polar stratospheric clouds, or nacreous clouds, for about 6 or 7 days in a row. Even though we didn't see any such clouds in Reykjavík, it did remind me of one of the most amazing photography moments I've witnessed since moving to Iceland.
I was extremely intrigued when I discovered the ATOLL tripod collar. This new solution promises to replace your L bracket by solving issues such as the limited range of motion of your fully articulating screen & access to the ports on your camera. How does ATOLL hold up and will it replace my L bracket?
I released a brand-new YouTube video about photographing braided rivers with a drone in Iceland. I take you through the whole process: from taking the shot on-location to processing the images into a final photograph.
This first "Behind the Shot" photograph is a special one to me: the northern lights dancing above the (now famous) DC-3 plane wreck in Iceland. It's the photograph that started it all and lead me down the path that turned me into the professional photographer I am today.
Another year has (almost) passed. That means it's the perfect time to publish a list of my most noteworthy photographic moments of the year. It's the perfect way for me to reflect on the special moments and achievements in my photography career and look back with pride.
Today is a special day for me. Exactly one year ago I released my first book, New Earth. I'm proud to say that so far over 850 copies of my book have found a new owner.
Now that the dust has settled, I wanted to say "Thank you!" to each and everyone who visited my photography exhibition 'Fire and Ice', bought one of the photographs or sent me encouraging messages. I am very grateful for the tons of support my work has gotten.
The coming week is the very last week during which you can visit my photography exhibition 'Fire and Ice' in Asse, Belgium. On Saturday November 12th I will be present at the exhibition between 14h and 18h.
Last week I travelled to Belgium for several reasons: the opening of my photo exhibition and three lectures on my time at the two most recent volcanic eruptions in Iceland.
I released a brand new video which is a little bit of a teaser to the exhibition which is opening the coming week. This homage to the Fagradalsfjall Fires is a collection of video footage made during the two most recent volcanic eruptions at the Fagradalsfjall volcano in Iceland.
