Summer is pretty much over here in Iceland. Therefore, it seemed like it was time to give you a few updates from my side.

Featured in Natuurfotografie & Shoot Magazine

I’m proud to tell you that my work is featured in two Belgian/Dutch magazines this month, Natuurfotografie (number 61) and Shoot (number 98). I even made the cover with one of my puffin photographs in Shoot.

Be sure to pick up a copy if you’re interested!

Workshops in 2023

This summer I’ve been co-hosting several photography workshops. It’s been great to meet so many new people who are just as excited about photographing Iceland as I am. I had a blast!

I am already looking forward to next year. Currently there is only one workshop with available spots. That workshop is Puffins in the Midnight Sun, which I am hosting together with Anja Robanke. There are only two spots left. First come, first serve!

I will be announcing more workshops for 2023 and 2024 later this year.

YouTube: Top 10 Tips When Flying a Drone Above a Volcano

While the (short-lived) eruption in Meradalir was active, I received a ton of questions about drones and volcanoes. Therefore, it seemed like a good idea to share with you my tips and advise when flying a drone over an active volcano. I hope you enjoy the video and learn a thing or two – even though the eruption isn’t active at this moment. Most of these tips are based on things I figured out by flying over the eruption countless hours last year.

We are expecting a new eruption to occur in the near future. When that happens, you’ll find out on my social media. Stay tuned…

Reminder: Exhibition & Lectures

In October, I will be in Belgium for a week to open my new photography exhibition and to host a lecture. Tickets for the lecture are limited so be quick! The exhibition is for free and everyone is welcome on the opening night. On both occasions I will be selling and signing books.

New Earth – Available in Belgium & the Netherlands

It’s possible to buy New Earth, my book, locally in Belgium & the Netherlands. Currently, you can buy it directly from Matador Uitgeverij and bol.com. Click the links to go directly to the product pages.

Buying it locally allows you to skip the import costs!

For those of you who want to order directly on my website, a 20% discount is available on my book and e-book. Just use the code INSTA20 or FACEBOOK20 to get a discount during checkout.

Additionally, I have a lot of prints available from last year’s eruption. Prints are shipped for free and from within your own region (if possible). This means, for example, that you don’t have to pay import fees in Europe and the US.
