Finally! It’s been a long, but rewarding, road but finally “New Earth” is hitting the shelves! The first shipments went out just earlier today.

I’m unbelievably proud of this project I embarked on earlier this year. It honestly feels a bit like a dream that my first book is now available to purchase. The people who participated in the crowdfunding will be receiving their copies soon and I can’t wait to hear what you all have to say about it. It’s the culmination of a process that required a lot of sore legs, thousands of photographs, blood, litres of sweat and some tears.

Again, I would like to thank all of you who supported my work by pledging during the crowdfunding. Not in my wildest dreams did I expect the massive support I received. Out of the bottom of my heart: THANK YOU!

What is “New Earth”?

New Earth – A Photographic Journey Of The Geldingadalir Eruption” is my first book. It’s a 144-page, uniquely personal, photography- and experience-focused book. Its subject is the recent volcanic eruption in Geldingadalir, a small valley on the Reykjanes Peninsula in Iceland.

When the eruption started on March 19th 2021, I was there with my camera to experience and capture this volcanic event from a front row seat. It was the beginning of a genuine photographic journey which exceeded all my expectations. In this book, I share my collection of images strengthened by sharing my experiences whilst photographing the eruption.

The book combines my photography of the eruption with interesting stories on how those photographs came to be. I also share how this volcanic event left a big impact on me personally and how my experience started evolving together with the eruption.

Where can I get a copy?

My book is currently for sale in the following places:

On my website
In the Reykjavík Grapevine online shop
– In Eymundsson book stores in Iceland
