Description
Hraunauga (translation: ‘Lava Eye‘) is a top-down aerial photograph taken during the 2021 Fagradalsfjall eruption.
This image shows the main crater of the Geldingadalir eruption at night right before it’s about to erupt. The glowing insides of the crater, together with the puddle of lava, forms an image that resembles an eye.
