Áhorfendur (translation: ‘Spectators‘) is a photograph taken during the 2021 volcanic eruption of Fagradalsfjall.
The photograph showcases the massive scale at which the lava fountain, or lava geyser, erupted. It shows our small size next to such a powerful display of nature’s force very well.
