As I have done in the past with previous new DJI drone releases (DJI Mavic 4 Pro vs. Mavic 3 Pro & Mini 5 Pro vs. Mini 4 Pro), I decided to make a RAW file comparison between the DJI Lito 1, DJI Lito X1 & DJI Mini 5 Pro. I have again produced a side-by-side comparison, by taking the same images in the same conditions.
As always, it is important to get one thing out of the way: I am not a pixel-peeper. I generally don’t go and zoom in on an image at 400% to see whether or not something is ever so slightly sharper. I don’t think it matters all that much, especially with the new DJI Lito 1 and DJI Lito X1. And you know why? These drones are aimed at absolute beginners and that target audience may not care as much for the crispiest image quality. I mainly created this comparison to show the differences between each of the models in the beginner or low end market segment so you could make sense of which drone fits your workflow fits if your focus is photography.
So what did I find by putting the DJI Lito 1, DJI Lito X1 & DJI Mini 5 Pro next to each other? Let’s find out!
In case you missed it, I published a complete photography-focused review of the new Lito 1 & Lito X1 on my blog.

For the purpose of this RAW file comparison, I headed out with the DJI Lito 1, DJI Lito X1 & DJI Mini 5 Pro. They are now the available options in the lower end of the drone market.
Things You Should Know About The DJI Lito 1/Lito X1/Mini 5 Pro RAW Files
As I have done before with the DJI Mavic 4 Pro & DJI Mini 5 Pro, I decided to do another RAW file comparison between the DJI Lito 1, DJI Lito X1 & DJI Mini 5 Pro. During my pre-release testing, I spent some time on capturing all kinds of RAW files in order to make a good comparison between these models. Some of the differences are considerable and I am sure you will be curious about them too.
If you sign up below, you will get a link sent to download the files. However, there are a few things I want to point out first…
Good To Know
With my last RAW file comparison, between the Mini 4 Pro & Mini 5 Pro, I tried a more controlled environment in my home office. However, some people commented that they did not believe this was a good method because it was indoors so I once again decided to my comparison outdoors and fly the drones I am comparing. However, it is impossible to do a true 1:1 comparison, with exactly the same image but I tried to keep everything as similar as possible. Below are a few things to consider:
I flew the DJI Lito 1, DJI Lito X1 & DJI Mini 5 Pro simultaneously during a sunset so I could shoot at the highest available ISO without issues.
- I captured these RAW files during sunset so I could shoot at high ISO without blowing the images.
- I aimed to get roughly the same composition for the images. I flew the DJI Lito 1, DJI Lito X1 & DJI Mini 5 Pro simultaneously, at the same altitude. The drones were flying a few meters apart to avoid collision and it should be noted that there was a slight wind which may cause shifts in the composition when changing images.
- In terms of settings I configured the white balance to be fixed on all drones, as well as the ISO. However, the shutter speed may vary between models as I had that set to Auto to simplify the test.
- For some reason, only the DJI Lito 1 is able to go up to ISO 12800, while the DJI Lito X1 & DJI Mini 5 Pro have a maximum ISO of 6400.
- On the DJI Lito 1 & DJI Lito X1 there are more ISO increments between the “main” ISO settings as compared to the DJI Mini 5 Pro. I did not include those in the test as they are marginal changes and don’t really add to the comparison.
- The DJI Lito 1 & DJI Lito X1 have a 2X and 3X mode but this is a digital crop that does not exactly show in the RAW files. Shooting in those zoom modes still results in a full size 1X RAW file being included. Therefore, I did not include those in the comparison.
- The DJI Mini 5 Pro has a 2X mode which results in an actual 2X RAW file, which are included in the comparison.
- The DJI Lito 1 & DJI Lito X1 both have a 48 megapixel mode, while the DJI Mini 5 Pro has a 50 megapixel mode.

A Few Comparisons I Wanted To Highlight
There are a few comparisons I want to show you in the imaging department. It should perhaps be no surprise that the DJI Mini 5 Pro is still the better choice for photography but I invite you to draw your own conclusions.
Disclaimer: it is by far the best to download the files yourself and have a look. The images you see here are also in some way compressed because you are viewing them on my website.
ISO100 On DJI Lito 1 (1x), DJI Lito X1 (1x) & DJI Mini 5 Pro (1X)
This comparison shows the differences between the Mini 5 Pro compared to Lito 1 & Lito X1 at low ISO. It’s a good way to compare overall sharpness and detail.
ISO6400 On DJI Lito 1 (1x), DJI Lito X1 (1x) & DJI Mini 5 Pro (1X)
While you will likely not ever shoot at ISO 6400, this comparison shows how much better the noise performance is on the Mini 5 Pro compared to Lito 1 & Lito X1 at high ISO.
